Cinema 4d materials7/6/2023 It can create realistic-looking materials. I created some masks from the JSplacement application. You can import masks to map out where you want your edges to be. Try using C4D noises for a more organic feel. It’s fun to try out different textures and settings to see what you can make with it. The edge detection drop-down is the most powerful part of the Arnold toon shader in my opinion, because it provides so much customizability for the silhouette and contour lines. You can find more detailed system requirements here. V-Ray 6 for Cinema 4D Update 1 is compatible with Cinema 4D R21+, running on 64-bit Windows 8.1+ and macOS 10.14+. The update also adds support for the OCIO colour-management system introduced in Cinema 4D 2023. V-Ray interactive rendering is now supported in Cinema 4D’s Viewport, and users can now render hair or feathers generated with Ornatrix C4D, the Cinema 4D edition of the third-party hair plugin. In addition, V-Ray for Cinema 4D now supports more features from Cinema 4D itself, including the MoGraph Color Shader, which can be used to randomise the colours of objects or particles. Support for more of Cinema 4D’s native features V-Ray GPU, the software’s hybrid CPU/GPU render engine, gets a new Compressed Textures mode to reduce memory footprint. The update also adds attenuation controls for custom Light Decay patterns, and the Denoiser now supports Nvidia’s AI-based upscaling technology when using the NVIDIA denoising engine. New materials, lighting and rendering featuresĮntirely new features include the Bump To Glossiness node, which generates a reflection glossiness texture from a bump or normal map, to stop materials like skin from looking too shiny when seen at a distance. The V-Ray Frame Buffer (VFB), Cryptomatte support and the procedural clouds system have all also been extended: you can find a list of specific changes in the release notes. The Cinema 4D edition also now supports resumable rendering, geometry instancing in the VRayParticles object, and Cylindrical projection in VRayDecal. The update introduces several more features from other editions of V-Ray, including the V-Ray Profiler, which breaks down the time taken to render each part of a scene to identify performance bottlenecks. Other features ported over from other editions of V-Ray The V-Ray Toon Material, intended for cel animation and cartoon effects, is available both a Classic Material and as a Node Material. V-Ray Toon now available in V-Ray for Cinema 4DĪnother major feature new to the Cinema 4D edition is V-Ray Toon, the non-photorealistic rendering system available in other editions of V-Ray. Objects can be distributed along curves, across surfaces, and within bounding boxes, providing a range of ways to populate scenes with objects, particularly vegetation. New features in Update 1 include Chaos Scatter, the standalone object scattering and instancing tool first released with Corona 8 last year, and later included with V-Ray 6 for 3ds Max. The update adds new object scattering and instancing tool Chaos Scatter, the V-Ray Toon material and the V-Ray Profiler, and support for the MoGraph Color Shader and interactive rendering in the C4D viewport.Ĭhaos Scatter now available with V-Ray for Cinema 4D Chaos has released V-Ray 6 for Cinema 4D Update 1, the latest version of the production renderer.
